Living Invitations Part 12 Ministry Chat

July 11, 2017

One of the things we try and do every week as part of our online ministry training is post a ministry chat on the upcoming weekend message. This week we will be talking about the older brother in the parable of the prodigal son. The church has a tendency to become like the older brother and we need to be vigilant to keep from going there. One of my favorite teachings on the subject is Jesus teaching in Matthew Chapter 20 about the workers in the Vineyard. It is easy to understand how unfair it feels to the people who labored all day in the sun and yet we are called to rejoice in the goodness of the landowner. Reading this parable helps me to evaluate how well I am doing in the whole older brother syndrome.
